Napoli 'set to offer Victor Osimhen new contract' amid Manchester United interest and other transfer rumours

Serie A champions Napoli are reportedly set to offer Victor Osimhen a new contract as they aim to fend off interest from Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag had earmarked Harry Kane as his top transfer target for the summer ahead but MEN Sport understands the Reds are working under the assumption Tottenham Hotspur will not sell. As a result, United are looking at alternatives.

Osimhen is one player who is of interest to Ten Hag after he scored 30 goals this season. In his post-match interview yesterday, departing Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti hinted the Nigerian forward may not be at the club next summer amid interest from United.

However, according to Calciomercato, the Napoli board are not willing to give up on their hopes of keeping their talisman. It is understood Napoli are set to offer the 24-year-old a lucrative new deal which would include a £138m release clause.

Elsewhere, United are said to be on the verge of missing out on another summer transfer target. According to Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger, Eintracht Frankfurt's Daichi Kamada is set to join AC Milan once his contract expires next month.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has enjoyed a standout campaign in Germany, registering 16 goals and seven assists. Goal claimed earlier this year that both Chelsea and United were interested in Kamada after his standout performances at the World Cup.
