Naomi Osaka showcased her dominance on the tennis court as she propelled Japan towards the Billie Jean King Cup Finals with a stellar performance against Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva. Osaka's impressive display included 15 aces and a straight-sets victory of 6-2, 7-6 (5), marking her return to the team competition after a hiatus since February 2020.

The four-time Grand Slam champion exhibited her resilience by saving all three break points she faced, while also amassing a commanding 31-16 lead in winners. Her triumph, coupled with Nao Hibino's earlier victory over Anna Danilina, handed Japan a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five-match qualifying round.
