Plans have been submitted to see a brand new Nando’s restaurant open in Edinburgh, if proposals are given the green light by officials.
Filed in the council’s planning portal this week, an application has been made to transform a unit at Craigleith retail park into the popular chicken restaurant.
Located in-between Costa and M&S, the chain have applied to change what was the Clarks shoe store into their new venue.

Sharing their blueprints for the new restaurant, plans have shown it would have a small outdoor seating area at the frnt go the unit, with larger tables, booths and benches inside.
Set to follow a similar layout to other Nando’s restaurants in Edinburgh, the Craigleith site would have a total of 114 covers.
Spanning over one floor, the unit will need to undergo a series of changes to allow for efficient ventilation and other uses, and will also contain a staffroom and office on the basement level.
Applying to the City of Edinburgh Council for a change of use from a retail unit to a restaurant, a formal planning notice stated:
"As is well established throughout retail parks in Edinburgh, Scotland and the UK, restaurant uses are now a common and expected amenity to supplement retail outlets within diversified commercial environments.
"The new use would facilitate occupation of an existing vacant retail unit following the departure of Clarks c. 1 year ago."
