Nando's will replace Pizza Hut at Swansea's busy Morfa Shopping Park. It will become the popular chicken restaurant chain's second outlet in the city following the departure of the pizza chain which had been there since the retail centre first opened.
The building currently sits empty with all its outer signage removed, and will soon be refitted to become the new home of the Portuguese-themed restaurant, which specialises in flame-grilled peri-peri style chicken. Founded in Johannesburg in 1987, Nando’s operates over 1,200 outlets in 30 countries. Its logo depicts the Rooster of Barcelos, one of Portugal’s most common symbols.
Nando's has asked Swansea Council for permission to install a replacement shop front and new fascia signs, which, if approved, will see the restaurant go forward with plans to transform the unit, which is located in a thriving spot next to KFC.
