Nancy Xu's Strictly exit post on Instagram breaks hearts after on screen tears

Nancy Xu has finally addressed her and Will Mellor's exit from Strictly Come Dancing, with an emotional Instagram post, after she was left in tears at missing out on this year's final.

Prior to Sunday's semi final, Nancy and Will were tipped to make the series finale with ease, as bookies were 'certain' that the final dance-off of 2022 would be between Molly Rainford and Fleur East. However, after Will received some rather harsh feedback from the Strictly judges, particularly Shirley Ballas, for the couple's opening dance, he and Nancy ended up finishing bottom of the leaderboard.

That mean they faced an uphill battle to avoid being in the danger zone, going into the public vote and, after the scores had been combined, Nancy and Will dropped into the bottom two for the first time, eventually losing out to Fleur and her pro partner Vito Coppola, after Shirley saved them with her casting vote.

Not making the final came as an agonising blow to both actor Will and Nancy, given she fell at the same hurdle last year with Rhys Stephenson. Nancy clung to Will in the immediate aftermath of the result, as tears came and, on Tuesday evening, she took to Instagram to address the crushing exit, with a post that sparked a huge reaction.

She began: "Where do I start~ well, even if it still hurts, I'm still super grateful for this journey And super proud for all the dances that we have performed on strictly come dancing this year.

"Thank you my partner @willmellor76 for all your commitment, Thanks for trust me, I have enjoyed to teach you so much, and you made me such a proud teacher and dance partner. The memories We made in this journey are beyond everything. I will hold them in a very special place in the deepest part of my heart. I adored this partnership so so much."

Nancy took time to thanks Strictly fans for their support and everyone on the BBC show, before signing off: "I know I was sobbing. After all I'm only human."
