Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is the latest to speak out against former President Donald Trump's potential cognitive decline by stating "something is very wrong there."

Over the weekend, during an interview on "Inside with Jen Psaki," Nancy Pelosi reacted to Donald Trump's comment about how he wouldn't mind if someone shot "through the fake news."

"I think that what the ex-president just said is further indication of his cognitive degeneration. You saw recently, when he was talking about electrocution or being eaten by sharks, something is very wrong there," Pelosi said.

She was referring to Trump's comments at his rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday. While discussing the protective glass surrounding him, after two assassination attempts, Trump pointed to an uncovered area.

"But all we have, really, over here is the fake news, right?" Trump said. "And to get me, somebody would have to shoot through the fake news," Trump continued. "And I don't mind that so much. ... I don't mind."

His spokesperson later released a statement to clarify that the Republican presidential candidate's comments were regarding the "threats against him that were spurred on by dangerous rhetoric from Democrats."

"In fact, President Trump was stating that the Media was in danger, in that they were protecting him and, therefore, were in great danger themselves, and should have had a glass protective shield, also," the statement continued, according to The Hill.
