Savannah Guthrie has admitted she fears her own celebrity status may have played a role in the disappearance of her mother Nancy Guthrie, who vanished from her Tucson, Arizona home on 1 February.

Speaking through tears, the 54-year-old anchor said the possibility was raised in a painful conversation with her brother Camron and admitted it was a thought she had already been carrying on her own.
