NAGPUR: Despite high court’s order to demolish illegal religious structures across the city, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has failed to do so. The city still has 121 illegal religious structures under B category, the NMC’s estate department admitted in a reply to RTI query.
Lawyer Firdos Mirza termed the NMC’s inaction as contempt of high court. “The NMC had given undertaking before the court about action to be taken against illegal structures. If the illegal structures are still there, it surely faces court action,” he said.
