Nadiya Hussain recalls horrific bullying ordeal that stopped her from going to the loo

Great British Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain has bravely opened up on the horrific bullying ordeal she suffered which ultimately stopped her from going to the loo.

The 37-year-old BBC star bravely shared her story on Kate Garraway's Life Stories as she detailed her past trauma that shaped her into the incredible woman she is today.

Nadiya, who won the GBBO back in 2015, told host Kate, 54, that she suffered a horrific bullying ordeal in school when a group of her male fellow students would hold her head in the toilet and continuously flush the loo while her head was under the water.

The emotional star said the trauma stopped her from going to the loo for a long time.

Recalling the horror, Nadiya told Kate: "Before I knew it, my head was in the loo and they were flushing it repeatedly and holding me down. And all I remember was having loo water up my nose and in my eyes and ears and even in my hair.

"Even to this day, every time I go to the loo, the image of them instantly comes to me and comes into my head."

Nadiya went on admit that she would deliberately not drink water in a bid to escape going to the bathroom.

The trauma from her bullying ordeal left her with such bad PTSD that she was constantly dehydrated because she couldn't face seeing the toilet bowl amid her horrific memories.

"It got so bad. It got to the point when I was really struggling with it - I would deliberately not drink water or ear because I didn't want to use the loo."

After hearing Nadiya's harrowing bullying ordeal, host Kate asked the brave Bake Off star if she thought the boys had any idea about impact of their horrific treatment that on her.

"Do you think those boys had any idea of what they had done to you? And what would you say to them now?' Kate asked.

In response, a teary-eyed Nadiya shed some positive light on the situation as exclaimed that she's now a successful star.

"I mean, if they are watching, I would like to say 'in your face'," she quipped as the audience erupted into applause.
