Spanish tennis stars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, known as 'Nadalcaraz', faced a tough defeat in the men's doubles quarterfinal at Roland-Garros. The duo was defeated in straight sets by American pair Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram, with a final score of 6-2, 6-4.
Despite fighting off multiple match points, Nadal and Alcaraz were unable to secure a victory in the match. Nadal, a 14-time singles champion at Roland-Garros, has not experienced the same level of success in doubles competition at the prestigious tournament.
Following his loss to Novak Djokovic earlier in the week, Nadal, aged 38, will not be continuing his campaign in Paris. However, Alcaraz, aged 21, managed to advance to the singles quarterfinals on the same day.
The American duo of Krajicek and Ram, both former world No. 1 players in doubles, displayed their expertise on the court. Krajicek even boasts a Roland-Garros doubles title from the year 2023, showcasing their skill and experience in doubles play.
