Jamie Carragher singles out 'outstanding' Liverpool midfielder after win over Wolves
Jamie Carragher has labelled Stefan Bajcetic's performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup as "outstanding".
Harvey Elliott secured Liverpool their first victory of 2023 as he fired past Jose Sa early in the first half to book his side's place in the fourth round and set up a reunion with Brighton and Hove Albion.
It was a much-improved showing following Saturday's 3-0 hammering on the south coast, which was fuelled by Klopp's decision to make eight changes for the tie in the West Midlands.
Two of those alterations came in midfield as Thiago, one of three survivors from the Amex, was partnered alongside Naby Keita and Bajcetic. And it was the performance of the Spaniard that caught the eye of the legendary Carragher, who made over 700 appearances for the Reds during his famed Anfield career.

Asking Naby Keita and Stefan Bajcetic to help shock a spluttering season back into life isn’t how any Liverpool supporter would have envisaged matters last summer.
But this hasn’t been a normal campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side. After the tried-and-trusted midfield trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara posted successive poor offerings, the Liverpool boss realised it was time for an injection of fresh energy and new blood.
Enter Keita, making his first start since the Premier League visit of Wolves at the end of last season, and Bajcetic, the 18-year-old beginning a game for only the first time in his senior career.
