Mystery donation to cost-of-living fundraiser stuns Ayrshire mum

A free night at a swanky Ayrshire ball for a group of 10 is up for grabs, confirms organiser.

An anonymous donor has bought a table, which seats 10, for the upcoming charity 'Fall Ball' in aid of Kilmarnock's food banks.

Organiser Hannah McMillan was thrilled with the generous donation of £150 which has bought an entire table for the swanky ball at the Park Hotel on Friday, November 18.

Big-hearted Hannah is hopeful the tickets will be claimed by a group looking to have fun together on the night.

She said: "I'm so thankful to the donor for their generous donation which will be a big help towards our communities' foodbanks in the winter months.

"And a big thank you to everyone for their help and donations so far.

"I'm hoping the table will be claimed by a group to spend the time together and kids can come along on the night too. The group that claims the table can do so anonymously with me.

"We have loads on and it'll be a great time for everyone. We've got some great raffle prizes, the Stewart Reid band will be playing on the night and we'll be hosting a best-dressed event too.

"I'm looking forward to seeing everyone dolled up and everybody helping raise money for those who need it most in Kilmarnock."

The glitzy black-tie event's raffle includes a framed and signed Celtic top and donations from Kilmarnock Football Club.

This is the first fundraiser organisers by the mum of one.

The 27-year-old Ayrshire College student decided to put on the night after she found herself fretting for her community as the cost of living crisis continues to spiral.

She said: "I've been noticing how the cost of living is putting pressure on the community already and it's likely to get worse during the winter months.

"Although I'm in a lucky position, even I'm starting to feel the weight of the rising costs. It made me feel really horrible because I know there are many more people in the community in worse positions.

"I've never organised anything like this before, but I felt it was important to help the community as best I could.

"There are multiple foodbanks in Kilmarnock and we'll be splitting the money raised between them all."

Those looking to claim the table or buy tickets to the event should contact Hannah on 07412272898.
