Bags of bullets were found submerged beneath the murky waters of a Paisley river at the weekend.
The discovery was made in the White Cart on Sunday morning with the ammunition subsequently being handed in to police.
Officers confirmed the mysterious find near the town's Bridge Street.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Paisley Daily Express: “We were made aware of a number of bullets found in the White Cart water near Bridge Street in Paisley shortly after 11am on Sunday, March 5.
“The items have been handed in to the police.”
