How to use a misting SPF properly, according to experts
There is, however, a bigger margin of error with this style of SPF. Common mistakes include holding the product too far from your face, spraying too quickly, or applying just once – all of which, according to some studies, could mean applying as little as half the amount of product needed to achieve the level of protection stated on the bottle.
- Hold the product close to the skin (not at arm’s length)
- Go over each area at least twice, in criss-cross passes
- Treat it as a genuine reapplication step, and apply with the same diligence and regularity as you would suncream to the rest of your body
