My Parents are Aliens family reunite for first time in 17 years sending CITV fans wild

A CITV cast reunion has caused a stir amongst fans as they came back together after 17 years.

The child stars of hit series My Parents are Aliens reunited with their co-star Tony Gardner, 59, to support his new play.

The actor was overjoyed to see the cast members again, having worked together from 1999 to 2006 on the award winning children's TV programme.

The cast posed together following Gardner's performance in Accidental Death of an Anarchist at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, London.

Appearing in the reunion photo were Alex Kew, who starred as Josh Barker, Charlotte Francis, who played Lucy Barker and Olisa Odele, who took on the role of CJ.

Stephanie Fearon, who joined the show as replacement for the character Harriet, also attended alongside Jordan Maxwell, who played Frankie Perkins.

Clearly all very happy to see each other, Last Tango in Halifax star Tony took to Twitter to share the photo.

He wrote: "My Parents are Aliens reunion at the play tonight. Such a wonderful group of friends.”

The CITV show followed the lives of three orphaned children called Mel, Josh and Lucy Barker and their new foster parents Brian, who was played by Tony Gardner, and Sophie Johnson, played by Barbara Durkin and Carla Mendonca.

The children quickly discovered the Johnsons were in fact aliens from the planet Valux, who crash-landed on earth when Brian tampered with the controls of their spaceship.

My Parents are Aliens ran for eight series.

The post sparked fans to reminisce about the show, with one saying: "Aww. Such a great show."

"The people who played Lucy , Pete and Frankie have hardly changed at all," another added.

Someone else commented: "One of the best shows to ever air on CITV. There needs to be some kind of remake/reboot or somewhere to watch all the originals. I love MPAA and still talk about it. Thank you for sharing this photo @Tonygardner and all the very best with the play."

"This is fabulous!," wrote a fan. One person added: "My childhood show."
