A horrified mum has slammed her neighbour after the pet owner started throwing dog poo into her family's garden.
The new homeowner says she was delighted to move into the property with her husband and young children. A home she's "wanted for such a long time", she couldn't wait to receive the keys to her little paradise.
But her dream soon turned into her nightmare when she discovered her neighbour's "hazardous" habit - ruining the family's enjoyment of what they hoped would be their "forever home".
Explaining her predicament in a post shared to babycentre, the mum claimed: "The man next door has decided to start throwing his dog's poo in my garden (some of it bagged and some not).
"This is an incredibly nasty and menacing thing to do, what's more is I have young children and so this is also incredibly hazardous for them." She added: "I've only been here a few months and so we've never really spoken. For the life of me, I cannot fathom why he’d be doing this. Neither my husband nor I have ever had any interactions with him at all! So it's not as if he would have any sort of 'reason'.
Perplexed, the pair tried to reason with their neighbour but they've not had any success. "My husband has knocked on his door twice to try and understand why he’s doing this and to try and resolve the matter, but the neighbour just peeps through the curtains but won’t open the door." Now, the family is unsure what to do about their unfortunate problem.
"Not only do I now have to clean up dog s**t that is nothing to do with me! But my kids don't want to go outside and use the garden anymore because of the s**t splattered everywhere. I'm at a loss…. What do I do? Why are some people so disgusting and malicious?!" the mum fumed.
"This is supposed to be our forever home, but he's ruining our enjoyment!!" she concluded. One person replied: "What a vile thing to do! Your poor children not being able to use their new garden. I'd put a polite note through the door asking them to stop throwing excrement over the fence. If it then continues I'd report to the police as harassment."
Another advised: "What an awful thing to do. If he won’t answer the door, I'd be putting a note through the door asking him to stop immediately. If it continues, I would be returning it over the fence and reporting to environmental health and the dog warden. I hope you can get it sorted."
According to NHS guidance, toxocariasis - an infection caused by small worms found in the poo of some dogs, cats and foxes - is rare but can cause serious problems. It is not caught from fresh poo but, most commonly, from soil or sand that has contained worm eggs for a few weeks or months. If you experience symptoms, you should seek medical advice.
