Most people end up falling out with their neighbours when they've made too much noise or when they've been nosy, but one mum has said she "can't stand" the woman who lives next door to her for a reason most of us would love to face - she's just far too nice.
The mum said she finds her neighbour "annoying" because she's constantly asking people questions on the WhatsApp group some people on their street are a part of, and she also uses the chat to agree to take in items that others are giving away. And if one of the people on their street is ill, the mum's neighbour will always offer to help them keep on top of their housework while they recover.
According to the mum, the neighbour has two children that are homeschooled and recently had a baby, and she doesn't believe that anyone could possibly be as nice as she is - so she's convinced she's just "pretending".
In a post on Mumsnet, she wrote: "I'm going to get shot down for this one ... but we have a neighbour who moved in pre-pandemic, and I'm being one judgemental so and so here, but everyone loves her but I just can't stand her!
"This neighbour regularly asks for stuff on the street WhatsApp group, such as 'has anyone got X game before I go out and buy it for my kids'. Or if someone is giving something away, she's on there within 5 seconds saying 'I'll have it' (probably running an eBay business on the side).
"Just now another neighbour has fallen ill and said on our WhatsApp group that she is poorly - and in jumps annoying neighbour being super helpful [and saying] 'I'll come round and help in the house and cook for you'.
"She had a baby and homeschools two children. I mean come on, just stop! Stop pretending to be so bloody 'nice' all the time because you're not. You're annoying. And stop being so grabby."
The mum even claimed that her neighbour's kids once brought over some brownies they had baked themselves as a gesture of goodwill, and the mum had simply "binned them".
She added: "Her kids once made brownies and dropped them round. We binned them! I don't want your kids' brownies, thanks!"
Commenters on the post said the mum sounded "jealous" of her neighbour for being organised and helpful, but she insisted there is "something off" about the other woman, as she's convinced "no one can be that lovely".
One poster wrote: "You sound delightful. Are you jealous because she's clearly organised and helpful? She sounds lovely."
While another added: "She sounds nice and helpful, to be honest. She's just wanting to be friendly and nice to her neighbours. If she annoys you that much remove yourself from the WhatsApp group."
And a third posted: "You sound like my own neighbours who love to try and stir up trouble. You sound bitter and jealous. Get a life."
