Mum-shaming is very real, and it pops up even with the most innocuous activities.
And one mum has revealed she was slammed for letting her young son scratch a scratch card - she's even been branded a "bad mother".
Worse still, it came from her own mother-in-law.
The Australian woman shared a post on kidspot.com.au to explain the bizarre situation.
"While I’m not a rule stickler I am definitely not a rebel or foolish with decisions I make, especially when it comes to parenting," she began.
"I implement rules and ensure my kids follow them, I am responsible and although I have made mistakes here and there, I’d definitely say I am a pretty good parent."

She continued: "However, if you asked my mother-in-law, at Christmas she would have said I needed to have my kids taken away by Child Protective Services or something.
"And it all happened because I let my 9-year-old son, *Mitch scratch a scratchie. Yes, a scratchie."
The mum explained the scratch card was part of a gift pack given to her by her parents, and she wasn't excited about doing them because the novelty has worn off.
On Christmas Day, her son Mitch spotted the scratch card and asked if he could have a go.
"'Yes,' I told him without thinking twice about it," she wrote.
"Mitch took the scratchie from the pack, got a coin from his pocket and sat down to scratch it and this was the moment that Sally unleashed.
"You may think unleashed is a pretty over the top description but in this case, it was absolutely accurate because in front of everyone who was in attendance, a good 15 of us, she started to raise her voice and tell me in no uncertain terms that a child shouldn’t be scratching a scratchie.
"She told me that it is a form of gambling and that it is inappropriate for him to do this and irresponsible parenting to allow him, let alone encouraging him."
The mother-in-law told the woman she was setting a "bad example" and "telling him gambling is okay".
"As she carried on nearly everyone in attendance looked on with wide eyes, clearly also quite taken aback as to what was occurring. And poor Mitch, he just looked to me with an expression that screamed, ‘save me’," wrote the mum.
In a desperate bid to deescalate the situation, she decided to just ask Mitch for the scratch card back.
But she couldn't stop thinking about her mother-in-law's unnecessary reaction.
"Ultimately, I don’t think there is any harm in letting Mitch scratch the odd scratchie. He knows we don’t gamble, and he is not exposed to it," she added.
"While I appreciate the reasons behind Sally’s concern, I don’t think it was the time, the place or the way to go about raising them. I also don’t think a kid scratching a scratchie is really that bad in the scheme of things, but it will be a secret from her nonetheless."
