'My middle finger goes up to those who refused to home her' charity worker hits out at those who refused to help former soldier living on the streets

A former military worker who was homeless for seven years and addicted to drugs has turned her life around. Izzie Watts, aged 33, was let go from the army because she was suffering from health issues.

It led to her suffering from a 'severe' case of PTSD, and turning to drugs. She went on to spend seven years living on the streets of Leeds, and was repeatedly refused a home by housing associations, she said.

She added that during that time, she also faced a cancer battle and had to have a double mastectomy. She said she spent much of her recovery on the cold streets, Leeds Live reports.
