Taking your dog to the groomer for a trim can be hugely beneficial to your pet's well-being, but one woman was left gobsmacked when she saw the "insane" haircut her puppy had been given.
Oriana Doan said she thought her groomer had given her "the wrong dog" when she saw what her pooch, Maggie, looked like after her mum took her for a trim - as the dog's fluffy brown fur had been completely shaved off.
The woman shared a video on social media in which she posted a series of pictures of Maggie before and after her drastic trim, and left viewers in stitches when she showed that the fur on her dog's body had been shaved short, with the fluffy hair left only on her ears and the top of her head.
Ori, who posted the video on her @theoridiaries TikTok account, said in her video: "I think the groomer gave me the wrong dog."
In one of the pictures Ori - who also posts on Instagram under the same username - shared, she could be seen replying to her mum over text after she was sent a picture of Maggie's new look.
She wrote: "Why does she look like that? That is the most insane haircut I've ever seen!"
And while Ori wasn't a fan of the haircut herself, she was able to see the funny side, as were the 29,000 people who have liked her video so far.
One person wrote: "I'm crying!"
While another said: "That looks like someone's dad from the 80s."
And a third posted: "I had to pause to laugh ... I'm sorry."
Others joked the trim looked like the dog version of the haircut that has become synonymous with the phrase "can I speak to the manager", while some compared the cut to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
There were some comments who claimed Maggie's fur was "probably matted" and said the groomer would have had no choice but to shave her, but Ori was quick to dispel those rumours - insisting her mum actually chose the cut herself.
When one person said: "Poor puppy was definitely matted", Ori responded: "She actually wasn't, my mum legitimately chose this haircut."
