A woman was left stunned by her fiancé's "hilarious" cost-cutting suggestion ahead of their wedding day, and knew there was no way she'd be happy to go along with it.
Kasey Rayton and her thrifty-minded partner of 12 years have been engaged since early 2023, and the couple has since been left astonished by the steep cost of wedding planning.
Like many brides-to-be before her, beauty and lifestyle content creator Kasey has been left particularly blown away by the price of wedding flowers.
In Australia, where the bride and groom live, the average couple will splurge around £887 ($1,620 AUD) on their floral arrangements, bouquets, and other such flowery additions. As remarked upon by Kasey, this price can rise to as much as £8,000 ($10,000) in certain states.
In a TikTok video that has clocked up nearly 30K likes, Kasey, who goes by the username @kaseyrayton, shared her fiancé's budgeting idea with her followers, laughing, "I can't even make this up".
Making her thoughts on his proposition crystal clear in the clip, Kasey wrote: "Me looking for florists within our wedding budget. My fiancé: 'can't we just get them from Woolies in the morning?'"

For those not from Australia, Woolies refers to a chain of grocery stores and supermarkets, and is a separate entity entirely to the now-defunct FW Woolworth Brits will be more familiar with, despite sharing the same affectionate nickname.
Although Kasey herself was left incredulous at such a notion, many of her followers were actually quite impressed by her fiancé's smart thinking, revealing they'd tried similar hacks themselves ahead of their big day.
One savvy saver commented: "My maid of honour went to the flower market at 5 am the day before and I had a stunning bouquet babe! So much cheaper."
Another approved: "He's smart, I'll give you my rewards card to save more money."
A third individual recalled: "I got mine for free from a florist at flower market who was throwing them out because they were no longer 'sell worthy'. They were literally perfect."
