New Nottingham Forest signing Taiwo Awoniyi says it has "always been" his "dream" to play in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has joined Forest from Bundesliga side Union Berlin for a club record fee and is tied down to the Reds until the summer of 2027. He is Forest's first signing of the summer, with Man United goalkeeper Dean Henderson set to follow suit soon.
Awoniyi, who started his career at Liverpool, scored 20 goals in 43 appearances last season as Union Berlin finished fifth in the German top flight. They qualified for the Europa League, but the lure of the Premier League proved too strong for Awoniyi as he looks to prove himself in England.

“I’m very excited to be here at Nottingham Forest,” Awoniyi told the club. “It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League and having spoken to Steve Cooper about our ambitions and looking at Forest, with its great history, it’s a club that I want to be part of.”
The striker could make his competitive debut for Forest on the opening day of the season, when head coach Steve Cooper takes his men to St James' Park for a tough test against Newcastle United.
