'My boyfriend kicked me out the bed to watch TV - I'm sleeping in my child's bunk'

A frustrated woman claims she had no choice but to sleep in her son's bunk after her boyfriend burst into her bedroom at 11 pm, waking her up, and insisting that he needed to watch the rest of the Eurovision Song Contest on the bedroom television.

Her boyfriend, who is said to be a huge Eurovision fan, had been watching the annual contest downstairs and flew into a panic when the TV started messing up, insisting he catch the end in the bedroom. Wanting to just get some rest, she went to go sleep in her child's bunk bed, and is now "livid".

This "selfish" demand was made despite him knowing full well that she struggles to sleep with any background noise. To make matters worse, she was absolutely exhausted after a fun day out with her children, and so had deliberately gone to bed at 9pm.

The fuming woman clarified that her and her boyfriend don't actually live together. She pays 100 per cent of the mortgage and bills for her house, and he just stays over. Sometimes he'll stay over occasionally, and sometimes he'll stay "a lot".

Taking to Mumsnet, the miffed mum wrote: "Anyway he comes bursting into the bedroom waking me up at 11 saying the TV is messing up he NEEDS to watch the rest of it in the bedroom!

"He knows I don't sleep well if the TV is on in the background, never have never will. Really quite insistent and panicky that he must watch the rest as he loves Eurovision and desperate pleas to watch it in the bedroom.

"I go and get in my child's bottom bunk, now I'm still awake in the bottom bunk while he is asleep in MY bed and I am LIVID!!!"

She's now reached out to fellow Mumsnet users for their views on whether or not this was a "dumpable offence", remarking that, had she been in her partner's shoes, she'd have simply watched the show on her phone rather than wake anybody up.

One person commented: "It doesn't sound like you're on the same wavelength. Sorry but no guest in my place would kick me out of my own bedroom, I would have been firm. He could have watched the rest of that on his phone whilst he sorted the TV issue out."

Another advised: "A dumpable offense is anything that is not good enough for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. He doesn't sound like a good fit for you and for what it's worth, I think he would piss me right off too!"
