MV Agusta has issued a statement about its current financial situation after numerous reports detailed what amounted to dire straits for the iconic Italian company. However, the statement provided does little to dispel what MV Agusta describes as a "proliferation of rumours, interpretations and reports unsupported by objective evidence."
The reason for MV Agusta's statement arose when a number of outlets first reported that the company had stopped production, lost over 50% of its sales year-over-year, had stopped delivering motorcycles to dealerships, and like KTM—its former owner—had applied for insolvency protections and proceedings to, hopefully, ensure the brand's survival after its separation from KTM.
