Musk doesn't want MAGA, he wants WAGA: Indian-origin Vinod Khosla slams Elon Musk

Indian-born billionaire investor Vinod Khosla has launched a sharp attack on Tesla chief Elon Musk, accusing the tech mogul of promoting “WAGA” or White America Great Again, instead of MAGA (Make America Great Again).

In a post on X, Khosla alleged that Musk’s latest remarks and online behaviour reflect what he described as a “racism is great and desirable” mindset. He also urged non-white employees at Musk-led companies, including Tesla, SpaceX and X, as well as “decent whites,” to resign and join firms backed by Khosla Ventures.

“@elonmusk doesn’t want MAGA, he wants WAGA,” Khosla wrote, adding that Musk’s worldview was rooted in racial superiority.

Khosla’s remarks came after Musk’s recent posts expressing concern over the declining share of white people in the global population. Musk argued that whites now account for nearly 8–9 per cent of the world’s population, down from about 36 per cent in 1900.

While some online users supported Khosla’s criticism, others argued that Musk’s comments were being taken out of context and pointed instead to broader demographic challenges, particularly falling fertility rates across Europe and other developed regions.

Past controversies around Musk

This is not the first time Musk has faced backlash over race-related commentary. Earlier this month, he drew criticism for endorsing a post that warned of violence if white men became a minority, using the “100” emoji in apparent agreement.

In 2023, Musk also sparked outrage after responding “You have said the actual truth” to an antisemitic post alleging that Jewish groups promote hatred against whites, a remark that led to widespread condemnation and advertiser pullbacks from X.

Recently, Musk accused South Africa of racial discrimination, claiming Starlink was denied an internet service licence because he is not Black.

In another post, he alleged that the country now has “more anti-White laws than there were anti-Black laws under Apartheid,” while stating that he opposed discrimination against all races.
