Musician buys book he adored as a child - and discovers it was his from 40 years ago

A man who bought his favourite childhood book on Amazon discovered it was his own copy - from 40 years ago. Tom Tolson, 49, ordered a second-hand version of 'The Secret Agent's Handbook' - and realised it contained the spy message he penned on it as a kid.

He flicked through the front pages - realising it was the same copy he owned when he was just 10. The musician, from Nottingham, made the recent online purchase on Amazon for £2.80 after watching the coming-of-age drama 'Belfast' - which he said "sparked a deep sense of nostalgia".

Tom said: "The Secret Agent's Handbook was one of my favourite reads as a little kid living in County Durham. After watching Belfast recently, it reminded me of when I was a kid - I wanted to be in a gang and used to dream of becoming a spy."
