Museum of Flight near Edinburgh to offer incredible new wartime escape room

A brand new escape room has launched near Edinburgh this summer inside a former RAF base.

The Museum of Flight in East Lothian have announced they will be running 'Operation Sabotage' for a time in August, which will be set up in one of their outbuildings on-site.

Once used as an RAF base, the space has now been converted into the new escape room which will take visitors back in time to 1942, right in the middle of the second World War.

Running from August 5-14, groups of four to eight people will be met with the scenario that the nearby town of North Berwick is under attack, and will need to solve a series of puzzles.

With clues leading to the discovery of the saboteur responsible for the attack, organisers are hoping the event will allow guests to connect with the local history in a new way.

Claire Allan, Engagement Manager at National Museums Scotland, said: I’m delighted to offer such an innovative way to connect with the remarkable history of East Fortune airfield. Thanks to the creativity of the young participants in the Scotland 365 project and the generosity of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this experience will be brought to life for new audiences.”
