Merseyside Police has confirmed the force is yet to charge anyone following a body being found last year.
Questions marks still hang over the death of a man at a flat in Southport in July last year. Emergency services were called to an address on Bath Street in Southport, near where it meets Nevill Street, when a body of a 57-year-old man was discovered on Sunday, July 24, 2022, with the cause of death unknown.
Two men, aged 51 and 54, were initially arrested on suspicion of murder but were released and remain on bail. Since then, no further arrests have been made and the murder remains unsolved.

Merseyside Police was approached for comment on the murder probe, with the force confirming enquiries are ongoing. Detective Inspector Matthew Kerr said at the time: “It is with great sadness that we confirm that a man was found dead at a property on Bath Street.
“We are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what has taken place and how he died. We urge anyone who may have seen or know something that might help with the investigation to please contact us.”
