Murder probe launched in Enfield after 58-year-old woman found dead

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a women’s body was discovered in Enfield.

Police were called to Church Street at 8.32pm on Monday, February 21.

A 58-year-old woman was pronounced dead by officers when they arrived at the scene with the London Ambulance Service.

The force is working to identify the woman’s next of kin and a post-mortem examination into the cause of death will take place in the coming days.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are investigating and a crime scene remains in place.

No arrests have been made and a enquiries are ongoing, the Met said.

Chief Superintendent Simon Crick, responsible for local policing in Enfield and Haringey, said: "I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. My thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family and friends.

"Extra officers will remain in the area over the coming days and I would urge anyone with information or concerns to speak to them or to contact us by calling 101."
