POLICE have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in South Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to Main Street in Dundonald at around 4.05am on Sunday, August 23, after receiving reports of an unresponsive man with injuries.
Officers attended alongside paramedics and the 57-year-old was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
He died a short time later.
Police have now named the man as Graham Milliken, from Dundonald.
His family has been informed.
Following a post-mortem examination, Police Scotland confirmed that Milliken's death is being treated as murder.
A 36-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 25.
Detectives are carrying out enquiries in the area and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said: "Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries, checking CCTV and speaking to local residents in an effort to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
"However, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information that would assist our investigation.
"We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam or doorbell footage, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area that night to contact us.
"Officers remain in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach them."
