A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of another man on the Central Coast.

NSW Police say emergency services were called to a Woy Woy street on Saturday evening and found a 41-year-old man unconscious in the street with multiple stab wounds.

Police and paramedics administered CPR, but the man died at the scene.

He has since been formally identified as Nathan Strudwick.

Detectives arrested the 46-year-old man at a hotel in Toongabbie in Sydney's west about 3.30am on Wednesday.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital and then to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with murder, aggravated robbery and inflicting actual bodily harm.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
