The Munster Hurling Championship will throw-in with an eagerly-awaited Easter Sunday double header after the fixtures were unveiled today.
First up on April 17, just six weeks away, is the meeting of Waterford and Tipperary at Walsh Park.
Later that day (4pm), All-Ireland champions, Limerick launch the defence of their crown against Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
There’s no time to rest as the following Saturday Limerick are at home to Waterford, with Tipperary at home to Clare the next day.
The fixtures are staggered then to ensure no county has to play three weekends in a row.
Cork are at home to Clare on May 1, with Limerick meeting Tipperary on May 8, before the final two rounds of fixtures kick in.
The Munster Senior Hurling Final is fixed for Sunday June 5 (4pm).
This will be the first provincial round robin since 2019, with two years lost to the Covid pandemic, when the GAA went with a back door system in the hurling championship.
Meanwhile, the Munster Football Championship quarter-finals are scheduled for Saturday, April 30 as Clare host Limerick (6pm) in Cusack Park Ennis and Waterford entertain Tipperary (7pm) in Fraher Field, Dungarvan.
Kerry’s Munster semi-final against Cork will take place on Saturday, May 7 (7pm) at Pairc Ui Rinn, and is sure to be a sell out.
The Munster Senior Football Final is fixed for Saturday May 28 (3pm).
In all, 51 Munster Championship games are scheduled over 61 days from April 5 to June 5 across the two codes and including minor, under-20 and senior.
