MUNICH police have wished the Tartan Army good luck for the rest of the Euros as Scotland fans descended on the city for the opening game.
In a post on Twitter/X, police thanked Scottish fans for creating “a special atmosphere”, wishing them a safe journey and good luck for the rest of the competition.
“Many thanks to the Scottish fans who created a special atmosphere over the last few days,” the post reads.
“Good luck at the @EURO2024 and happy travelling. Cheers!”

Police also tweeted a picture of a smiling Scotland fan with their arm around a police officer outside the Allianz Arena in Munich.
It comes after more than 200,000 Scotland fans were in the Bavarian city for Scotland’s opening match against Germany.
Fans have now started heading to Cologne, where Scotland is set to play Switzerland on Wednesday evening in the team’s second match in the group stage.
One Germany fan thanked the Tartan Army for creating “a very relaxed and happy atmosphere” whilst in Munich.
Another said they hoped Scotland will stay in the tournament for a while, as the team’s fans are “people of honour”.
And another: “Scottish fans, please stay here, we like you.”
