Mumbai woman lodges complaint against loan app recovery agents for circulating her morphed photos

MUMBAI: A Shivaji Nagar homemaker lodged a complaint with the police on Monday against the recovery agents of a loan App service who circulated her morphed nude photos to her phone contact list people.

The 22-year-old woman had sought a loan of Rs 5,000 from the loan App and was sanctioned a loan of Rs 3,000. The woman told police that she came across the loan App while surfing a social media site. To get a loan, she sent her photo, Aadhar and Pan card details. The App also sought access to her phone contact list.

She was sanctioned a loan of Rs 3000. She started receiving threatening and abusive calls from various people for loan repayment. On June 5, she received her morphed nude photo from a number.

Later, one of her friends called her up and said she had also received her photo from a mobile number. The woman then approached the police and lodged an FIR. She also gave a list of 14 mobile numbers which were used to abuse and threaten her.
