Mumbai sees over 350 new Covid cases for second day in a row

MUMBAI: The state registered more than 500 new Covid-19 cases and Mumbai reported more than 350 cases for the second day in a row on Friday.

No Covid deaths were recorded anywhere in the state. Maharashtra reported 536 fresh Covid cases, its highest single-day detection in nearly three months. The last time the state had reported more than 536 cases was on March 2 when 544 cases were added. Mumbai recorded 352 cases, the highest detection in a single day since February 11. The city's daily positivity rate has increased to 3.5%.

Hospitalisations continued to be in double digits in the city for the fourth day in a row. The city has seen 60 admissions in Covid hospitals in just the last four days. The number of critical cases in the city has gone up to two after staying nil for more than a month. State numbers showed that 457 of the 536 new cases were reported from the MMR. tnn
