MUMBAI: Age sits lightly on the shoulders of Parle Tilak Vidyalay Association (PTVA), one of Mumbai's premiere educational conglomerates, which recently wrapped up its centenary celebrations, even as Parle Tilak Vidyalay, the PTVA's first-born, basked in well-deserved glory.
The Vidyalay was flagged off to enshrine the memory of Lokmanya Tilak, the illustrious Congress leader and freedom fighter. Legend has it that a band of young Tilak loyalists set up the school, in a nondescript bungalow owned by one of them and located on the Market Road in Vile Parle (east), in June 1921.
