A Brit mum whose ex-partner left her for the Ukrainian refugee they had taken in says she "wouldn't take him back in a million years" after the pair announced their split. Lorna Garnett, 28, reportedly told her friends that she was not surprised that her former boyfriend Tony, 30, had broken things off with Sofiia Karkadym.
She previously claimed Ms Karkadym wore "low cut tops and red lipstick" in an effort to seduce her man when she moved into their home after fleeing war-torn Ukraine. Soon after, Mr Garnett left his wife and their two children after confessing his love for the new lodger, the Mirror reports.
However, their whirlwind romance has now come to an abrupt end after Mr Garnett allegedly broke up with his Ms Karkadym following an explosive argument on his 30th birthday. According to The Sun, Ms Garnett told her pals: "I knew it would end in disaster for them — I just didn’t think it would come after only four months. He has thrown away so much. It’s hard to feel any sympathy. I wouldn’t have him back in a million years.’’
Security guard Mr Garnett famously broke up with Ms Garnett after they took Ms Karkadym in as a refugee earlier this year. However, their relationship did not last and Mr Garnett has now reportedly dumped his Ukrainian partner.
He told MailOnline: "I am 100 per cent through with her. We are finished as a couple. I left Lorna and my two children for her, and I made every extra effort I could to help her keep us together. I worked so hard to make this relationship work.
"I knew that we would look like t**ts if we broke up because we have a media profile and all the attention that has been put on us on television and on the internet."
The security guard claimed that he called things off after the pair had an argument during Mr Garnett's 30th birthday celebration on Saturday night. He described his relationship with Ms Karkadym as a "mistake" but said he was still looking out for her.
He added that he has even been messaging her mum since their break-up. Mr Garnett said he would contact the council and Home Office to try and find the Ukrainian a new home.
He has always insisted his relationship with his former partner Ms Garnett was "already over" by the time he met Ms Karkadym. But Ms Garnett previously told The Sun: “She set her sights on Anthony from the start, decided she wanted him and she took him.
“I just don’t understand how he could throw all that away for a woman he’s known for a fortnight. The life I knew is shattered.”
