The mum of Strep A patient Camila Rose Burns said she is now out of intensive care but still requires treatment.
Camila Rose Burns, from Bolton, was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital after contracting the bacterial infection. She was placed on a ventilator and was fighting for her life.
Step A has killed 15 children under the age of 15 in the UK. The bacteria usually causes a mild infection producing sore throats or scarlet fever that can easily be treated with antibiotics. In rare cases it can cause serious illness - known as Invasive group A strep (iGAS).

On Monday, Camila's mum Kaye Daniels posted a public update on her Facebook page regarding her "little fighter's" condition. She said the four-year-old came out of intensive care on Friday and she remains on dialysis, antibiotics and is being monitored for the effects of the sepsis shock on her hands and feet.
Part of Kaye's update said: "We still don’t know the full damage yet or what surgery will be needed. We need to wait and give her more time to recover.
"Despite all this, we can still get a smile out of her and she is talking about dinosaurs and watching CBeebies in her hospital bed. She is starting to eat again but doesn’t have much of an appetite yet, her first request was chicken nuggets of course.
"She is still very poorly and we have a long way to go and a few hurdles to cross but we are getting there slowly and she is just the bravest little girl I know. So for now, we are here at, quite possibly, the best children’s hospital in the country."
Kaye also thanked medical staff for "saving our special girl" including the team at Alder Hey, Bolton Hospital and North West Ambulance Service.
She added: "The care and support Camila and the whole family have had from Alder Hey has been incredible. She had a wonderful musician in her room playing harp to her this morning [Monday].
"She has also been visited by Santa who told her how brave she is and asked her what she wanted for Christmas because she is most definitely on the good list (she said a big Dino of course). Thank you so much again to everyone for everything.
"Thank you for all your prayers and kind words, and for all your support. We are overwhelmed by the love and support we have been shown and we appreciate all of it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"I’d love for you to please continue to pray for our beautiful girl to fully heal and get better back to how she was before so we can all go back home together."
