Mum shares 'genius' hack to get fussy toddlers to eat vegetables and people love it

Many parents will have been through the moment when you're trying to feed your kid veggies and they aren't having any of it.

Despite your best efforts, all they can do is cry and in the end they never end up eating their veggies.

For whatever reason they would rather avoid it at all costs, it makes it hard to make nutritious meals for your little ones - but now one mum has shared a handy trick to get them to eat their veggies.

Taking to Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group one member posted that their little one hates veggies but there's on product she came across that seems to get them to clear their plate.

Writing to the groups near two million members she said: "My toddler HATES veg but loves spaghetti hoops. Tried and tested and we love these. Totally aware I need to keep working on the situation but as long as carrots are getting used as bullets I'm happy to have any little help I can get (excuse the Tesco pun).

"3 large tins for £2 with your Clubcard."

She found the Heinz Veg Hoops in Tesco. (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.)

The Veg Hoops, which are also suitable for vegans according to Heinz, "are packed full of the same great taste you and the family have been enjoying for years, but now with 30% extra veg and pasta made from carrot and cauliflower, in a smooth and delicious tomato and sweet potato sauce."

In addition to this, its also classed as one of your five a day.

After sharing the handy fussy food trick with the other parents, many jumped to thank her.

One said: "As a parent of ASD children, this can be a great way of keeping up veg intake."

Another suggested: "I used to put the veg on my plate and tell the kids that they weren’t allowed it. Then I’d put a piece of broccoli on my fork, look the other way and when I looked back it’d be gone and my little ones would be giggling because they thought they’d been clever. Worked every time."

"My boy has autism and hates veg and even beans but loves these! I tell him what’s in it and he goes Mm yummy but still won’t touch actual cauliflower and carrots so these are perfect" shared a third.

A fourth commented: "Oooh fantastic! My little boy calls the spaghetti ones holey beans because he loves baked beans and to get him to eat spaghetti hoops we had to call them that! I’ll try these with him now! Thank you."
