Mum says Pontins chalets 'not fit for a dog' as her four children were left in tears

A Rhondda mum has hit out at Pontins after spending time at two chalets "not fit for a dog".

Nicola Fawkes, from Ynyshir, said her children were left in tears by the "absolutely disgusting" accommodation at the Brean Sands resort in Somerset. The family were shocked to find rubbish and dirt "everywhere" in their rooms, she added.

The 37-year-old mum, her four children, parents and niece had originally planned to stay at the nearby Sandy Glade holiday park but when they arrived late on Friday they found it was closed because of Storm Eunice. The family spent £270 on a seven-day holiday at Pontins as a replacement. They stayed at a hotel overnight and got to Brean Sands on Saturday afternoon.
