Mum saves £750 a month after quitting Tesco job and three-bed semi for caravan in countryside

A mum-of-two says she is "much happier" after swapping her job and semi-detached house for a life off-grid.

Lindsay Banks, 41, says she is saving £750 per month after a "revelation" during lockdown. She quit her job as a Tesco food trades manager, bought a caravan on Facebook Marketplace and moved to the Yorkshire countryside.

Lindsay, who is now self-employed, used to pay £1,000 a month on rent and now just spends £250, which includes the cost of electricity to power her mobile home. The caravan is parked up in a green space in York and she lives there with both of her children, YorkshireLive reports.
