Picking out a name for your baby can be one of the most difficult jobs for any new parent.
You want to make sure that your little one has a unique name that is special to them so you might spend ages trying to pick one out.
For one woman this was the case as she had spent months thinking of the perfect moniker for her soon-to-be born daughter.
However, she was then devastated to learn that her step sister, who is pregnant at the same time as her, called her daughter the same name, just before she is due to give birth.
In a Mumsnet post, she said she is unsure whether to use the name now as her step sister has just used it for her daughter.
The woman, who remained anonymous, wrote: "My step sister is four years older than me. She became pregnant last spring/summer. I became pregnant last summer. Her due date was eight weeks before mine. Both expecting girls.
"She told my mum she liked the name Josephine. My mum told her I have chosen that name. She said 'oh well we are going to call her Joey and she can call hers Josie'."
Then in recent days the step sister broke the news to her mum that they have called their four-week-old Josephine and the woman is very upset as she had her heart set on the name and is due in four weeks.
"So my question is, do I use the name anyway or not? Yes we have other options but none feel quite right," she said.
In response, the comments were torn over whether she should use the name or not as some felt she should use it if she likes it, while others were not sure.
One person wrote: "Use it anyway. One of my old school friends is called Josie. I love that name."
While another stated: "Just use the name Josephine if you like it. She knew you planned to call your baby by the name and nobody owns a name."
But others were not so sure as one said: "I wouldn't use it."
And somebody else noted: "They can have the same name, but in these circumstances I (and I am not you) would chose something else."
