A 'kind' young mum-of-three tragically died while on holiday after experiencing unexplained pain for weeks.
Lucy Broome collapsed at a holiday resort while enjoying a trip to Blackpool last year. After being rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for emergency treatment, she was initially seen by a nurse and doctor in the back of the ambulance due to a lack of critical care beds, an inquest on Wednesday (November 23) heard.
However, when it became clear how serious her situation was, Lucy was taken to a Covid isolation unit which was already at its capacity of four beds. Staff at the hospital then delivered emergency treatment to her which included incubation and a maximum glucose dose to help with low blood sugar, Lancs Live reports.
