A family was left heartbroken when a mum-of-three suddenly died after helping her eldest child get ready for school. Michaela Bateman, 34, was rushed to hospital when she complained of being in pain on the morning of September 29.
But despite the best efforts of hospital staff, she later died from a pulmonary embolism. Earlier that day, while helping her son, Goerge, get ready for school, she called out to her mum, Sharon Massingham, who was staying with her daughter at the time, and said she was in pain, The Mirror reports.
After being taken to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, Michaela suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after arriving and according to staff was “gravely ill”. Sharon had followed the ambulance to the hospital with her son Craig. She said the doctors had to “work” Michaela’s heart and breathing for her but tragically could not save her.
