A maths whizz mum was branded as having 'too much time on her hands' after she mathematically calculated that her Tesco's vegan sarnie had less than 40 percent filling.
Sarah Fox said she nipped to the Tesco's superstore in Rugby, Warwickshire, to grab their plant-based all day breakfast sandwich but when she took a bite out of it, was stopped in her tracks.
The 52-year-old opened it to discover a 'meagre' amount of filling that was clumped in the middle, so the witty mum decided to take matters into her own hands to calculate its exact quantity
The mum-of-five, who admits she 'failed miserably' at maths in school, spent five minutes putting her thinking cap on to work out that the filling constituted less than half of the sarnie.
Sarah, who's not a vegan or veggie but just enjoys the plant-based product, then created a diagram to illustrate her findings alongside the amusing note that 'no animals were harmed in the making of the sandwich or subsequent mathematics'.
Having 'failed miserably' at maths in school, Sarah says she is mainly self taught and is now even working as a finance administrator - so is used to dealing with numbers.
She conjured up the hilarious idea in a bid to give others a bit of a giggle, and was stunned by the online response it had.
Most users flocked to remark how funny it was by calling it 'priceless', with one writing 'calm down Sheldon' in reference to the Big Bang Theory's science boffin character, while another sarcastically said 'you need to be more precise, Sarah'.
But the Tesco shopper was also tickled that some took her prank seriously and called her a 'bit special' before demanding she make her own rather than moaning about an overpriced sandwich. After the whole debacle, the mum said she won't be buying the breakfast meal again and is now on the hunt for her next favourite sarnie - admitting she may even be a 'traitor' and shop at M&S instead.
Sarah, of Rugby, Warwickshire, said: "I've had those sandwiches before. The sandwich is pretty much the only pre-packed one I'd buy. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, I just like it. It was just funny because I started eating half of it and thought 'where's the filling in this?'
"I was quite shocked actually with the little amount that was in there and the way it was packed in the middle and I thought it would be hilarious to measure it and do a little diagram. It's like I haven't got anything else to do with my time but I was having a bit of stressy morning and it distracted me from a few things, let's say. It's just my sense of humour. I found it funny.
"I ate half of the sandwich, I didn't eat the half that I measured as I thought 'you know what, this is going in the bin'. I wouldn't buy this sandwich again. I'm going to have to find a new favourite sandwich now I'm afraid, I'm going to trawl the shelves and see what I can find, maybe even swap to Marks and Spencer's and be a traitor."

Sarah said she reached out to Tesco's on Facebook through sharing a post declaring that she usually enjoys their vegan sandwich, but she didn't this time. She then decided to humour users further by posting an even more elaborate calculation with the caption 'by great demand I have spent the afternoon investigating this matter further'.
Sarah said: "To be honest, if you think [about] the amount of bread to filling, 40 per cent isn't that bad. But I just thought it was hilarious to draw a diagram and stick it on there and see what people have to say about it and I was really surprised, some people were hilarious and some took me seriously.
"The comments saying that I am a bit special just made me laugh. You can see me going back to them and saying 'thank you, that's really nice of you to say'. Special? I like being special.
"I just take everything light-heartedly, for me it's fun, and for those that think it's serious and say 'you've got too much time on your hands' then, and? I failed at maths in school but I've been self-taught since then because you have to use it in everyday life basically. I had CSE - the old school, grade four and failed miserably."
The mum-of-five said she's since received a £2.80 voucher from Tesco for the sandwich. Her post received 44 comments with plenty seeing its funny side with one even mocking up a pie chart of her calculations, while others took it slightly more seriously. Tesco was contacted for comment.
