Mum left fuming at ‘patronising’ man who directed her how to park in her drive

Road rage can be easily triggered by several events - from reckless and erratic drivers to rush-hour traffic.

Frustration at the wheel can even be caused by factors outside of the vehicle, including patronising human beings - as described by a woman online.

A woman on Mumsnet described her fury as she was approached by a man in her very own driveway.

She fled to the social media site to describe the experience that left her infuriated as a man approached the back of her vehicle.

The mum started the post, "I had my first ever experience of a man waving at me to help me park".

The woman expressed her anger about the incident as a man helped her reverse, despite having parking sensors either side of her vehicle.

"The man had come to do some work on the rear of my car so he asked me to drive forwards onto my drive, so the back end was pointing towards the road," she wrote.

"As I did so he walked to the front end of my car and waved me in. Why do they DO this?! I was so tempted to ask him if he'd have done that if I was a man."

She added: "It's my drive, I park on it several times a day, I know where it ends and I know the size of my car."

"And even if I was struggling, my car has parking sensors on both ends anyway!"

Users of Mumsnet flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts on the occurrence at the woman's home.

One wrote: "They just can't help themselves can they?"

"It is infuriating when this happens. The last time it happened to me I glared at him until he stopped but I wish I’d said something," another penned.

A third added: "If he was working on the rear of your car did he want a certain amount of space behind it to put stuff etc? Just a thought. I've never encountered this."

"No, there was plenty of room for him at the back of the car as he had the pavement there too. I guess he thought I couldn't see my house in front of me or something and was worried I'd drive through the wall," the poster responded.
