Ageing is a part of life, one that we can't escape, but while some people choose to embrace their fine lines, others enjoy testing out different products and methods to keep a youthful appearance.
However, there are others who have faces that remain frozen in time and never seem to age no matter how many years pass. One such lucky person is Californian mum Amber Lancaster, who recently shocked her social media followers by revealing her true age - about 15 years older than her fans thought.
Then, in a video listing four beauty products she "swears by", she admitted she "loves" a budget product that costs less than £7.
Amber, who is a model on American game show The Price is Right, is 42 but says she is often mistaken for being in her late 20s.
In a now-viral video on her TikTok @amberlancaster007, she smiles and puts her age on screen, paired with her voiceover saying: "This is for everyone who looks younger than their actual age and people don't believe them when you tell them how old you are."
She captioned it "1980 baby", revealing that she was born that year which made her 41 at the time of posting - she has since turned 42. The clip garnered over 100k likes.
After sharing the revelation with her 79k followers, she later revealed tips on how she stays looking so youthful, including her list of go-to skincare products.
Amber obliged her fans and shared her ultimate anti-ageing secrets in a separate clip captioned: "Four skincare products I love and swear by."
She said: "First being tretinoin, you need a prescription for this, I've been using it for 15 years and it’s literally changed my skin. I'm 41 years old and I credit this little tube right here.
"It stimulated collagen production, it’s like the number one ingredient that’s scientifically proven to change your skin. But you do need a prescription for that."
Tretinoin is a prescription-strength retinoid used to tackle acne, discolouration, and wrinkles by boosting collagen production and skin cell growth. According to skincare brand Skin and Me, tretinoin has no adverse side effects with long-term use but does require a prescription.
Amber recommends adding a vitamin C serum into your routine. She uses SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Antioxidant Vitamin C Serum, which sells for a hefty £150 from LOOKFANTASTIC. There are budget options available, such as the Revolution Skincare 12.5% Vitamin C Super Serum, available at Boots for just £10.
She also uses the Ponds Dry Skin Cream at night which costs just £6.69 on Amazon.
Amber said: "Another one that I swear by and love is this Ponds Dry Skin Facial Moisturiser. I use this at night, use it during the day as well," she said. "It's more of a midweight, but it does contain petrolatum which is a skin sealant, but a like a smaller amount."
The fourth and final product the model loves is the classic Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, available for £29 at Boots or less than £15 at Amazon for a smaller tube.
One user said: "41 going on 25, you look like a young lady on stage!"
"People saying you look 30. I am 30. You look 25 – so beautiful," a follower commented, while another added: "Literally the only one I’ve seen where you actually look younger than your age. Now tell us all your secrets."
"You look amazing !!! Give me your skincare," another commented, while hundreds more demanded to know her secrets.
Most dermatologists also recommend wearing SPF protection daily, as this will protect your skin against UV rays which contribute to the skin ageing process as well as serious medical issues.
Amber admitted that she has had Botox in another video but did not specify anything beyond that.
