A hardworking mum has told of the constant struggle to put food on the table and heat the family home as the cost of living bites. Kate Worby has three jobs while her partner Charles Skudder also works long hours yet the couple find they regularly have to go without food.
Kate told Devon Live how she hadn't "really eaten" for three days leaving her shattered. And she said the lack of food was just one area where their family was being faced with tough choices.
She said they also faced a daily battle not with "heat or eat" but with "heat less, eat less". And even shopping trips are fraught with the risk of embarrassment if her careful calculations go wrong and she finds herself having to put things back at the till.
