Mum has people in stitches over 'niche' sniffing habit she's developed in pregnancy

Although pregnancy is a magical time, the expectancy of a newborn and a blossoming baby bump can sometimes bring some rather peculiar moments.

At 27 weeks pregnant, a woman on TikTok has shared her niche sniffing craving - that has sparked others to share their own peculiar habits during their nine-month journey.

In the video - which has surpassed 18,000 views - TikToker Maisie Crompton shared her "weirdest pregnancy craving".

She said: "So, I'm going on holiday in three days - so I'm trying to pack my suitcase.

"But I'm sat here like a crazy person - just sniffing this swimming costume.

"I got this a week ago from ASOS and I can't stop smelling it - it's like an actual craving."

With pregnancy inevitably making you do "weird things", the TikTok star revealed that she was "addicted" to the smell.

"It smells like nothing else that I can think of," Maisie said.

"The other smell that I love is my boyfriend's garage.

"The problem is now that I don't want to pack it because I've been smelling it for the last couple of days so I don't want it go in my suitcase," she added.

The popular video sparked a reaction in the comment section as other expecting mums shared their own peculiar cravings.

One said: "I'm 34 weeks and I cannot stop smelling cleaning products and watching them foam up, my house has never been cleaner."

Maisie replied: "Omg yes! I love the smell of really strong cleaning products too."

"I loved the smell of my dad's shed and I also ate chalk through my 2nd pregnancy," a second added.

"It’s chlorine for me," a third penned beside a laughing emoji. "I can’t stop bloody thinking about it."

"Isn’t it crazy what pregnancy does to us ahaha," Maisie replied beside another laughing emoji.
