With the end of winter soon approaching, many people are looking forward to the warmer weather and the lighter evenings coming in. A little bit of sunshine and the outdoors can do a world of good for your mood and most people try and make the most of it.
One mum is encouraging her little one to embrace the outdoors and says she keeps a watchful eye on her daughter playing in the garden, the Mirror reports. Unfortunately, this hasn't gone down well with her next door neighbour who has threatened to report the woman for her 'neglectful' parenting.
Taking to popular forum Reddit, the mum explained that her meddling neighbour has accused her of leaving her toddler 'unattended' and sought advice from other users on how she should deal with the situation. In a post she wrote: "We have a sunroom and a fenced yard. During warm weather, I will hang in the sunroom and leave the door open for my toddler to hang in our fenced yard.
"Our neighbour noticed and shouted over to me, then ran to our door, claiming they thought toddler was unattended to. I explained, the sunroom door is open and I'm watching her, etc.
"This happened again today, except this time the neighbour mentioned she should call someone to report my neglect.." The baffled mum questioned: "A. Does she have a leg to stand on? Am I seeing this as a non-issue when she's maybe too young for that?
"I feel like it's the same as sitting on the park bench while your kid is on the playground, except safer because it’s our own fenced home. B. How do I get my neighbour to f*ck off?"
Since sharing, the woman's post has brought in over 300 comments with several other users reassuring her that the neighbour was being unreasonable and that it was none of their business how she parented her child.
One person replied: "Neighbour is going out of their way to harass OP [original poster]. This person sounds like an idiot with way too much time on their hands."
Another advised: "Time to plant a privacy hedge!"
